Pet

Tortus is focused solely on improving your hero's survivability. Tortus helps tanks, but really shines when paired with a traditionally fragile hero as it can surprise your enemies with the added health and healing.

Game Start Notes

Just go for the 2 health crystal at the start and try to focus on farming at early game. You can be agressive if you have a ranged lane partner for an early kill or assist, as you are tanky, but need someone's help for the damage.

You will pick up these items pretty quickly, if you're doing well, and not dying too many times. These items are pretty much the "buy 'n' forget" items, you get them, and they will make you powerful to mid-late game. Early game they give you a lot of extra HP though because of the custom crafting recipe.

Everwinter Charm is a great item for initiating teamfights, when you jump in with Avalanche after you can activate your item so you can extand the slow duration from it and give your team a great help of chasing down fleeing opponents.

About this build

Pros of this build:
  • Lot's of health
  • Very forgiving build (you can take a lot of punishment before you die)
  • Can still have pretty good damage (late game)
  • Great for initiating teamfights
  • Fun! (Always love to see lots of healthbars compared to the other glasscannons)

Cons of this build:
  • Not so good damage early game
  • Easily countered by enemies buying a Titanslayer (each attack deals damage equal to 1,5% of it's target's max health)
  • Lack of mobility (Bounder pet / Rocket boots are still a good alternative though, but then not so tanky)
  • Very very limited mana (must use only for fights)

The main concept of this build is to be tanky, but at the same time to have a lot of power.
Due to the nature of this build thanks to the items, it is very easy to achieve both.
Let's take a look at the items first.
The first item you should go for, the Reaper's Scythe of Ages. The reason why you should get it ASAP is because of the item's ability that you get extra health and power for kills and assists. Remember that power and health are the 2 most essential things for Ace.
The other early games are the Elder Stone of Ages and then go for the Inertia Boots.
You get Elder Stone of Ages early so it will finish stacking up earlier as well.
Empowered Bracer of Strength gives you even more extra health for every 3 power above 100, which is not a lot early game, but after you get Giant's Visage of Constitution it will jump up dramatically, because of the item's passive:
Provides power equal to 0.9% of your max health.

The funniest thing about this build is that you don't even build for power but at the end game you will have over 200 power anyway without any power items due to Giant's Visage's passive.

/Oh yeah and btw my IGN is ACE. Feel free to add me. :P/

your build is way too bad and i will not rate it until you choose to answer this comment or reconsider all the build.

First of all i will see your points and tell you why it is bad

Pros of this build:

  • Lot's of health - 5k health don't matters if you get low armor, and mate you only have 27 resistance, 90 or 80 resistance can help a lot more on tanking for example you would take like 800 damage from a fed malady R with 80 resistance (and heal back 200 hp if you get the guardian helmet) while with 27 you would take 1400.

  • Very forgiving build (you can take a lot of punishment before you die)- Lie, as i said up there you will not survive, you lack any kind of armor or regeneration

  • Can still have pretty good damage (late game)- True, but believe me you can fix up your mana problems with power conduit and get MORE damage

  • Great for initiating teamfights - lie, lack of armor as said before. you can't start a teamfight if you will die on 3-4 hits

  • Fun! (Always love to see lots of healthbars compared to the other glasscannons) - not a pro but yes, having more health looks (but only looks) rewarding

Cons of this build:

  • Not so good damage early game - is because how you level your skills, you get the same damage reduction from a lvl 1 E that from a lvl 4 E, level up Q to lvl 4 first for better damage.

  • Easily countered by enemies buying a Titanslayer (each attack deals damage equal to 1,5% of it's target's max health) - A Iceforged Plate CAN FIX THAT when combined with your E and you put that item in situational items?!!

  • Lack of mobility (Bounder pet / Rocket boots are still a good alternative though, but then not so tanky) - never mind mobility on tanks, you will receive stuns and all that most of the time, for fixing that just add a early game mana regeneration object and run away/get closer with W. or just use pincer for cc break/armor and add rune boots for recovery or fervor boots for mobility

  • Very very limited mana (must use only for fights)- Add an Mana regen 1 + mana regen 1 dampening cloack on early game and a power conduit on late game and that can be fixed. overall you should just never use tortus, there are better pets all arround. for tankers like ace: pincer + rune boots or Tops + Inertia boots  are way better choices, the boost on early game hp that gives you tortus is equal to 2 tier 1 hp items, and in late game the immortal gaze adds +20% hp. the tortus healing and shield are worthless since fiki can heal you more over time and the shield is nothing because only reduces the damage of the first attack
